Test rankings: Misbah slips to the ‘Bottom’ of Top 10
Dubai: Test batsman Adam Voges supersedes Misbah in the Top 10 ranking. Misbah is pushed to the bottom, whereas Younus Khan retains his 6th position.
According to details, Adam Voges who played a victorious innings scoring 239 against NZ at Wellington succeeded in grabbing 9th position, pushing Misbah to the10th. Younus Khan retains his 6th position while Steven Smith stays at the top.
Losing a position NZ’s Kane Williamson is now at the 3rd position. The ranking-progress worthy to mention is Pakistani origin Australian batsman Usman Khawaja who has transformed himself into a ‘Run-Machine’ during the current season scoring 4 centuries in 6 innings. In the first test against Kiwis he played a fantastic innings scoring 140 runs and took a 10 steps leap to reach 27th position being his career’s best. The interesting point to note is, that he started his season at the 65th position. Usman Khawaja has played 14 tests scoring 1879 runs.
Among the test bowlers ranking Yasir Shah still holds 3rd position, at the top is Stuart Broad, the second position is with India’s Ashwin. Dale Steyn is at the fourth, Josh Hazlewood reaches 7th position replacing Trent Boult who is at number 8.
Among the all-rounders, Ashwin is at the Top, Shakib is number 2, Broad number3, Ben Stokes is number 4 and South Africa’s Vernon Flender is at the 5th position.
It may be remembered that it is essential for Australia to defeat Kiwis in the second test to grab number one position in test from India otherwise they have to be satisfied at 3rd position.
