The selection committee of Pakistan cricket has decided to remove middle order batsman Umar Akmal from the T20 series against England which is scheduled for later this month.
The official press release of the PCB stated that the batsman had brought disrepute to the PCB and Pakistan cricket through his actions which were revealed in press reports earlier today.
Umar Akmal was in contention for a place in the T20I squad, but he was not considered following the Board issuing him a show cause notice after the press reports revealed that he had brought PCB and Pakistan Cricket into disrepute
The PCB has also served a notice to Umar Akmal and asked for clarification regarding the matter.
“Umar Akmal had been penciled in for selection, but he has subsequently been dropped on instructions from the Board, as he has been issued with a show cause notice for bringing PCB and Pakistan Cricket into disrepute”
Reports say that Umar was at a dance party where he behaved inappropriately and was not at the best of his behavior.
Pakistan cricket board chairman Shaharyar Khan has just said while talking to media that Umar Akmal has been suspended from cricketing activities and a full fetched inquiry will be carried out to investigate the matter.
