Virat Kohli is better than Tendulkar says Ganguly
Former Indian captain and left handed opener Sourav Ganguly has praised Virat Kohli’s magnificent match winning knock against Australia the other day. Virat’s cool, calm and collected knock meant that India chased down a seemingly stiff target in convincing fashion.
Virat Kohli’s innings has convinced the India great Ganguly that Virat is a far better player when it comes to chasing down targets. He added that had Australia broken through that partnership between skipper Dhoni and Kohli things could have changed but that did not happen and eventually India cam out with a win. He also backed the method used by Virat throughout the innings and was glad to see how he paced his innings during the match.
“Sachin was special but as far as chasing is concerned, Kohli has done better than him. Kohli is unreal,” the ex-India captain was quoted as saying by India Today
“Two outstanding players (Kohli and MS Dhoni) were at the wicket. It was still a good pitch to bat on. I always thought India would win as long as these two boys were at the crease,” Ganguly added.
“Australia had to get one of these two boys out, preferably Kohli. When they were not able to get Kohli out, I knew India would win.”
“He knew that he could accelerate at any stage and take the game away. I get the feeling that the team management feels he is India’s go-to man. They don’t put any pressure on him even if he scores slowly,” he added.
