Wahab, Saad drive Pakistan to 239 in must-win game
DHAKA: After winning the crucial toss in a must-win game against Bangladesh, Pakistan set 240-run target for the home team thanks to Wahab Riaz for hitting in the death overs, ARY News reported Sunday.
The batting department of the green shirts put up yet another dismal show against average bowling line-up of Bangladesh.
Young Saad Nasim remained top scorer with 77 off 96 balls. He was assisted by Riaz with his impressive 51 off 40 balls at a strike rate of 127.
Skipper Azhar Ali scored 36 off 60 balls at a below-par strike rate of 60.
While two key players Muhammad Hafeez and Fawad Alam were out for duck, thus plunging Pakistan team into further crisis.
Shakib-al-Hassan bagged two wickets for 40 runs in 10 overs. While Rubel Hossain, Nasir Hossain, Arafat Sunny and Masrafe Mortaza got one wicket each.
Pakistan retained the same side that lost Friday’s first one-dayer by 79 runs.
Bangladesh, looking to seal their first-ever series win over Pakistan, welcomed back skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, who missed the opener due to a one-match ban for his team’s slow over-rates at the World Cup.
Mortaza, playing his 150th one-day international, replaced seamer Abul Hasan for the second of three ODIS.
