Waqar frustrated on being ignored by PSL
Karachi: Coach Waqar Younus frustrated on being ignored by Pakistan Super League. He released his anger pressing hard for fast bowler Rahat Ali’s inclusion in PSL.
According to details the national team’s head coach Waqar Younus was confident his services would be considered as a coach for PSL but surprisingly none of the 5 PSL franchisers did so, instead Mushtaq Ahmed assistant coach, former cricketer Ejaz Ahmed and Muhammad Akram were taken on board and given responsibilities. Being ignored in such an unexpected manner frustrated Waqar Younus, his ego stopped him from expressing his disappointment but he vented his anger by pressing hard for the fast bowler Rahat Ali’s inclusion in PSL.
Its worthy to note that none of the PSL franchisers considered Rahat Ali who is a permanent member of the Pakistan test team and this gave a chance to Waqar Younus to express his anger over the administration and the franchisers as well.
While giving an interview to a local tv the head coach said among the 26 players in the fitness camp, Rahat Ali is the only one being rejected by PSL which leaves him discouraged, despite being a permanent member of the test squad and representing the country in the world cup he’s unable to be a part of the league.
Waqar said I have had a word with PSL administration to find a way out to include Rahat Ali in any of the franchises. The interesting point to note is that none of the franchisers opted for the master batsman Younus Khan who made Pakistan become the world T20 champion. However Waqar refrained from giving any comments on this issue.
