Waqar leaves press conference after Sarfraz question

AUCKLAND: Pakistan coach Waqar Younis ended post match press conference after bombarded with questions regarding wicket-keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed, who won ‘Man of the Match’ award for brilliant performance but had been out of coach’s favors in the previous four World Cup games.

Sarfraz opened for Pakistan and scored impressive 49 off 49 balls and later took world record equaling six catches behind the wickets and was rightfully awarded ‘Man of the Match’ award. Pakistan recorded a thrilling 29-run victory against pre-tournament favorite South Africa on Saturday.

However, Pakistan started badly in the tournament losing to archrival India by 76 runs; thrashed by mercurial West Indies by 150 runs. Later, they defeated underdogs Zimbabwe narrowly and UAE by 129 runs.

“Will you apologize to the nation for not picking Sarfraz in the first four matches while Pakistan was struggling?” reporters questioned Waqar, who didn’t answer and abruptly ended the press briefing.

yes he should apologize to the whole nation that he did a great great mistake by not picking Sarfraz. No other excuse will be accepted.

He had played the dignity of nation. SHAME==SHAME’==SHAME

Pathetic. The coach should be big enough to admit his mistakes, take criticism, keep good humour and grace under pressure, and do what’s best for the team without any reservations.

Pakistan should stick to this line-up for the Ireland encounter unless the wicket looks like it’ll be conducive for spin – in which case Yasir Shah in place of Sohail Khan might be worth considering. Shahid Afridi needs to work on his bowling, And Younis should also be prepared to chance his arm.

Waqar seems to be a Mad and some personnel grudges with Sarfaraz, that’s why he kept him away from the previous matches & perhaps his RUN out was a part of his (Waqar) bitterness. SHAME, SHAME & SHAME
