Former cricketers have severely criticised the team management and especially Waqar Younis after the team’s defeat in the third ODI against England.
While talking to a government news agency both Sarfraz Nawaz and Javed Miandad have clearly stated that Waqar should be removed from the post with immediate effect. They said that the team is always based on the likes and dislikes of Waqar Younis and with no input from the other members of the tour selection committee.
Javed Minadad added that opener Ahmed Shehzad was also a victim of Waqar Younis and he should have not been left out of the side. Former wicket keeper Wasim Bari also said that Shehzad is a top ranked opener and by making him sit on the bench Pakistan are wasting his talent.
Amir Sohail was also disappointed to see the way team has performed during the series and failed to understand why there was so much chopping and changing in the side after winning the first ODI. He said that Pakistan lost the two ODIs because of tactical deficiencies as we had a better team as compared to England.
