Waqar Younis likely to resign rather than being sacked
Waqar Younis is likely to leave the post of Pakistan cricket team’s head coach with prestige by resigning instead of getting sacked by the PCB.
Waqar Yonis addressed the team in an emotional fashion and communicated to the players that the next match is likely to be his last one as their head coach.
Despite of the fact that Pakistan has not been completely out of the race of World T20 semi final, but, according to a player, the captain of the side, Shahid Afridi and the head coach has almost lost the hope for advancing in the tournament.
Waqar was earlier expected to travel to England with the team in summer as the coach, but, the board has already decided to replace the legendary fast bowler with someone for the post.
Waqar has been under the pump for continuously exhibiting poor performance by the Green Shirts in the short formats of the game, they are ranked 8th and 7th in ODI and T20 teams’ ranking respectively.
There is news circulating that Aquib Javed can be a potential candidate to replace his fellow fast bowler as the head coach of Pakistan and there are few big decisions expected to be taken by the board soon after the team returns.
As per a player, the team is still hopeful and determined to register a win against the mighty Aussies and wait for Australia to do the same with India. In such a case, Pakistan has bright chances to qualify to the next stage of the tournament.
