Australia’s all rounder Shane Watson, who recently announced retirement from international cricket, is looking forward to playing alongside the Indian star batsman Virat Kohli.
According to Press Trust of India Shane Watson is excited about playing under the leadership of Virat Kohli as the duo will feature in the same side for the Royal Challengers of Bangalore. The two players have had their moments on the field, when representing their respective national sides, so it will be interesting to see how they carry themselves onto the field during IPL.
“It is exciting to be playing leagues like Big Bash, Pakistan Super League, the IPL. I get the privilege to play with a number of players against whom I played international cricket. For example, I will get to play with Virat and that’s a huge buzz for me. I have had had a few battles with him on the field and always had the utmost respect for him,” he said.
The rivalry between Chris Gayle and Shane Watson dates back to 2009 when the two stars shared a heated moment during the Perth test and Watson gave Gayle a proper send off after dismissing him but that rivalry cooled during PSL when it was announced that the two players will be playing in the same team during IPL.
“It’s amazing how the world works and how life works. Chris Gayle and myself have certainly had a few run-ins throughout our international careers. The day I got picked up by RCB in the auction, I saw Chris during the PSL. That was the day we had to bury the hatchet (laughs), knowing that I was going to be playing with him,” he told reporters here
