West Indies slipping out of Pakistan’s reach in ODI ranking
Dubai: West Indies team is slipping out of Pakistan’s reach in ODI ranking. The Caribbean team which is number eight has increased its lead by 7 points against Green shirts in the ODI ranking, who are at number nine. The West Indies performance during the Triangular series was quite impressive and they managed to play the final to gain 6 valuable points bringing their total to 94, whereas Pakistan is at 87 points.
In the coming days the Men in Green have to play series with tough teams like England, West Indies, New Zealand and Australia. In case of bad results they might be forced to play qualifying event for the World Cup 2019.
Bangladesh with 98 points is continuously enjoying its 7th position. Australia at the 1st position had to accept losing a single point despite being the winner of Triangular series final. A major blow came to South African team which lost 2 points by losing 3 matches and a draw, though they have 110 points similar to India which has slipped from the third to fourth position on decimal points. New Zealand retains its second position while England has played 3 matches up till now to grab Sri Lanka’s fifth position and pushing the Islanders to 6th position.
Not a single Pakistani is amongst the Top 20 batsmen, while Muhammad Irfan holds the tenth spot. Muhammad Hafeez, despite being a victim to illegal bowling action, managed to occupy 18th position and as an all-rounder he still sits on third position.
