Yasir Shah dubious for England tour due to knee injury
ISLAMABAD: Yasir Shah is unlikely to be selected for the all important England tour due to the knee injury. The first game in England is scheduled on 14th July.
A PCB official told that the board had stopped Yasir Shah from joining the ongoing fitness camp under army supervision in Kakul.
“Yasir has been suffering from a knee injury. He is feeling pain in his left knee, therefore, PCB has stopped him from joining the camp,” he said.
The leg spinner is likely to report in the National Cricket Academy in few days where doctors will examine his injury and treat it.
The absence of Yasir Shah can cost Pakistan heavily as he has been leading spinner for Pakistan and currently ranked 3rd in the ICC test bowlers’ ranking.
Inzamam is expected to announce the squad for the England tour in the first week of June. The board has also confirmed that they will attend a two week long training camp in Hampshire know get familiar with the playing conditions.
Pakistan will play four test matches, five One Day Internationals and a Twenty20 international in England.
