DUBAI: Yasir Shah is practicing hard to get ready for his first day/night test match and get used to the behaviour of the pink ball.
Shah, who is just five wickets away from 100 scalps, seems happy with the pink ball as he is getting more bounce with it as compared to the red cherry.
“I have been practicing with the pink ball for the last week, and it is going well,” he said while talking to media after practice. “In fact in comparison to the red ball, I find I am getting more bounce with the pink ball. So I am trying to get as much practice with this ball,” he added.
It is the very first instance, where Yasir Shah is playing with the pink ball, he has not played test cricket under lights even in the domestic, thus he is seeking help from the pros.
“I have been asking the coaches and Misbah-ul-Haq our captain, for tips, because this is my first match with a pink ball,” he told.
The leg-spinning sensation is excited to bowl with the pink ball, “In the beginning I thought it would be hard but we have been practicing so it is better, this is the first Day-Night test for me with a pink ball, and so it is an exciting prospect for me.”
Yasir Shah also said that despite of dominating the visitors in limited overs games, Pakistan cannot take West Indies lightly in White outfit.
“You cannot take any International team lightly, and just because we got the better of West Indies in ODIs and T20Is does not mean we can take them lightly in Tests. We have to give them the respect they deserve and we will make every effort to do well in the Tests,” he concluded.
