Zidane and Ramos optimistic about Real’s chances in UEFA Super Cup final
TRONDHEIM: Zidane and Sergio Ramos addressed a press conference before the all important UEFA Super Cup clash between Sevilla and Real Madrid.
Although Real Madrid will be without their key players including Ronaldo and Bale but Zidane is hopeful that his side can still topple any side with the squad he has.
“We’re going to have to play well, be focused from the off and work hard. We’ve got to do everything in our power and in football when you give 100% things can then go either way,” said Zidane.
“We’re not the favourites. It’s a game that both sides are wanting to win. I want us to be ready for it and I believe that we are.”
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was delighted to have the opportunity of playing yet another final. He was optimistic about his side’s chances of winning silverware right at the start of the season.
“It’s always special to be in a final and this is our reward for the hard work we put in last season. It’s great to start the campaign fighting for silverware and it’s exciting. I’m optimistic, I’m excited at the prospect of going for another title and I hope that we’ll be bringing it back to Madrid, where we’ll dedicate it to our fans.” said Ramos.
The match is scheduled to take place today at Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim, Norway.
