Zidane unsure of Bale’s availability against Man City
Real Madrid’s forward, Gareth Bale is struggling with a muscle injury. The team’s manager, Zinedine Zidane is not sure whether he will be fit to face Manchester City in the Champions League bouth next week.
Zidane has although confirmed that Gareth Bale will miss the game against Villarreal this Wednesday due to his muscle injury.
Bale, the Wales international, scored his 16th La Liga goal against Getafe on Saturday when Real Madrid registered a win convincingly by 5-1 and kept in the race for the title along with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Zidane said in a pre-match news conference, “He has suffered from something this weekend,”
“He is not with us [against Villarreal]. We hope at the moment that it is just an overloaded muscle.
“I hope he will be back with us for the next game.”
Real Madrid’s defender, Dani Carvajal will also miss the contest against Villarreal due to severe contusion.
Real Madrid’s manager said, “We will go day by day [with Carvajal], he has a severe contusion”, he went on to say, He will not be here for Villarreal and we will see how he reaches the next game.”
