Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan in May
LAHORE: Zimbabwe cricket team has expressed willingness to tour Pakistan for ODI series next month, ARY News reported.
Zimbabwe will be the first test playing nation to visit Pakistan in six years after Sri Lankan cricket team were attacked on their way to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the third day of the second Test on March 3, 2009.
Since then foreign teams have refused to tour Pakistan over security fears. And Pakistan has had to host all its home matches in United Arab Emirates instead.
But the bettering security in the country since last year’s military operation against the Taliban insurgency in the troubled northwest gives confidence to teams to tour Pakistan.
According to details, Zimbabwe will visit Pakistan to play 5-ODI in end of May and in return, Pakistan will also tour Zimbabwe. All five matches will be played in Qaddafi Stadium, Lahore as security delegation of Zimbabwe didn’t gave clearance for Karachi.
