Pakistan Football Federation announces 20-member squad for SAFF Cup


The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Friday announced 20-member National squad for the SAFF Cup, scheduled from 4-15 September in Bangladesh.

Saddam Hussain will lead the side while the other team members include Umer Hayat, Muhammad Naveed, Faisal Iqbal, Zeeshan Rehman, Abdullah Qazi, Shehbaz Younus, Mohsin Ali, Bilawal Ur Rehman, Muhammad Riaz, Ahmed Faheem, Sadullah, Mehmood Khan, Saddam Husein(C), Hassan Bashir (VC), Muhammad Adil, Muhammad Adnan Yaqoob, Youssef Butt, Saqib Hanif, Ahsanullah and Mohammad Ali.

The National team Head coach Jose Nogueira, Assistant Coach Mohammad Habib, Assistant Coach Essa Khan, Goal Keeper Coach Zahid Ali, Physical Trainer Roberto Portella, and Physiotherapist Mohammad Adnan will also arrive in Bangladesh along with the team.

The President PFF Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat wished best of luck to the boys and told them to play aggressive football in order to accomplish some good results.

He praised Nogueira efforts to lift the team’s performance and said that he is a man with a great mindset as a football coach.

“Nogueira has let the Players play attacking game and the boys performed quite well in Asian Games where they clinched their first-ever match against Nepal,”

As many as seven teams are featuring in the 12th edition of the SAFF Cup including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan will play its first match against Nepal on 4th September followed by the matches against Bangladesh and Bhutan on 6 and 8 September respectively.
