Lahore: Aaqib Javed has agreed to become bowling consultant for national cricket academy. According to sources the director academies Mudassar Nazar has convinced the former pacer to accept this position. His services would be available for organizing various programs for emerging cricketers.
According to details the director of academies Mudassar Nazar who recently took his position has started his activities, while watching the facilities available at NCA he has started looking into various names for selecting the support staff. Sources say that he has convinced Aaqib Javed to join as bowling consultant for the national cricket academy the final decision is expected to be announced shortly.
It may be noted that the former test cricketer who recently left his position as a head coach for UAE wanted to join Pakistan team in the same position but refrained to put up his application watching Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja’s interest in foreign coaches. Aaqib Javed is presently working as a director in PSL’s Lahore Qalandar franchise and had earlier declined Bangladesh’s offer as a bowling coach.
The former pacer after agreeing terms with PCB will join as a bowling consultant and organize various programs in the NCA meant for the uplift of rising cricketers. According to sources more than 20 all rounder players will be called upon to attend a camp for which the services of senior wicket keeper and fielding coach will be utilized.
