Karachi: South African former cricketer AB De Villiers has rated Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif among top-five bowlers in the world he had faced during his time.
Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif is a compulsory choice for De Villiers who is known as Mr 360 for his unthinkable playing style. Asif has represented Pakistan in all three formats of the game from 2005 to 2010.
On the other hand, he kept Shane Warne, one of the top Australian cricketers and frontline leggie for over a decade, on top of the list. “He was a good bowler but probably not unplayable. I faced him and felt good to bat against him. However, I regard him for his immense achievements,” he said in a video released by Cricket.com.au.
Australia’s Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins and England’s Stuart Broad are also in the list of Villiers’s top-five bowlers’ list.
It must be noted here that De Villiers scored 40 from 32 balls on BBL debut in Brisbane on Tuesday. He has also indicated towards making a comeback in international cricket.
