Abbas defends 12 runs in last over to hand convincing victory to Southern Punjab


Rawalpindi: Mohammad Abbas defends 12 runs in the last over to hand three-runs victory to Southern Punjab (SP) against Central Punjab (CP). 

Fahim Ashraf fought hard for CP by scoring 54 off 22 balls but Mohammad Imran bagged him on the last ball of the 19th over to once again took back SP into the game.

Kamran Akmal scored 32 off 18 balls with the help of two boundaries and three sixes while Mohammad Akhlaq made 30 runs off 18 balls. Rizwan Hussain and Qasim Akram scored 29 and 21 runs respectively.

For SP, Mohammad Abbas bagged three wickets while Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Imran took two wickets each.

Earlier, SP posted 205-3 in 20 overs. Shan Masood made 50 off 38 balls laced with seven boundaries. Hussain Talat (59*) and Khushdil Shah (47*) partnered for the fourth wicket to score 68 runs to further strengthen the team’s total.
