Pakistan’s rising star Mohammad Abbas has been ruled out of the third Test against New Zealand due to a shoulder injury.
Abbas injured his right shoulder while diving in the field during Pakistan’s innings in the second Test.
According to the sources, the scan results of Abbas’s injury have been sent to a specialist but the team’s early analysis suggests he could be out for anywhere between three weeks and four months.
The severity of the injury has also left the fast bowler in doubt for Pakistan’s tour of South Africa in December.
The 28-year-old was named man of the series for his remarkable spell against Australia in Abu Dhabi last month. He also became the first fast bowler to pick ten wickets in a Test in the UAE.
Abbas absence in the third Test might pave the way for a debut for Shaheen Shah Afridi.
