Abbottabad to host National U-23 Football Championship


Abbottabad: The National U-23 Football Championship will be played at Kunch Football House ground in Abbottabad from tomorrow.

President Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Ashfaq Hussain Shah inaugurated the Championship. President, Punjab Football Association, Sardar Naveed Haider,
Secretary-General PFF, Naveed Akram, Member Congress, Ch. Faqir Muhammad, President, FATA Football Association, Shahid Khan Shanwari, President. Islamabad Football Association, Ch. Muhammad Saleem, former DG Sports KP, Tariq Mahmood, Israr Bacha and a large number of peoples were also present on the occasion.

Three matches will be played on Monday. In the first match, Balochistan Bazigar will play with Punjab Warriors. KPK Hazara Stars will face with Khyber Eagles in the 2nd match while the third match will be played between Shah e Punjab and Islamabad Tigers.

12 teams from all over the country are taking part in the Championship and have been divided into four groups.

Group-A: Sindh Qalandars, KPK Falcon and Kashmir Kings; Group-B: Balochistan Bazigar, Punjab Warriors and Gilgit Markhors, Group-C: KPK Hazara Stars, Balochistan Zorawar and Khyber Eagles; Group-D: Shah e Punjab, Sindh Saints and Islamabad Tigers.

The semi-finals will be played on July 13, 14, and 3rd position match will be held on July 15 while final to take place on July 16.
