Abid Ali suffers injury while fielding at short-leg during practice match

Derby: Opening batsman Abid Ali was hit on the helmet while fielding at short leg during day three of the four-day intra-squad match at the Incora County Ground.

Abid, who has been rested from the remainder of the match, was hit near the logo of the helmet by a Haider Ali flick off Mohammad Abbas.

According to sources, an ambulance was called as the 32-year-old needed treatment. Abid didn’t suffer from any major injury and was able to sit up on a stretcher.

He has shown no signs of concussion but has undergone a precautionary CT scan which also has returned normal.

Abid only managed to score 10 runs in the first innings while playing for PCB Green. He was caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan on the bowling of pacer Sohail Khan.
