Abrar Ahmed guides Sindh to victory in ‘QeA Trophy Second XI’ first round


Karachi: Abrar-ul-Haq bagged 13-wickets haul to help Sindh beat Central Punjab (CP) by three wickets in first round of QeA Trophy Second XI tournament.

It was Saad Khan with the bat who scored 112 runs in the match to help Sindh wrap up first victory in a three-day 2nd division tournament. Saad scored 73 runs off 130 balls in the first inning while 39 in second inning. The las struck 12 boundaries and three sixes in the match.

While batting first, CP were bowled out for 161 runs thanks to Abrar who bagged 6 wickets for 66 runs. Shahnawaz Dhani took two wickets while Hassan Mohsin and Aamir Ali shared a wicket apiece.

Mohammad Imran Dogar was the highest run-scorer for CP with 39 off 93 balls laced with four boundaries.

In reply, Saad drove Sindh to take 18-runs lead over the opponents. Fahad Iqbal scored 33 while Shehzar Mohammad added 26 runs to the team’s total. Mohammad Ali, Ahmed Safi, Atizaz Habib bagged two wickets each.

CP managed to score 119 runs and Sindh got the target of 102 runs with 18-runs lead in their account. Abrar shined with blazing figures of 7-51. With the help of Saad (39) and Hassan Mohsin (26), Sindh chased the target on day 3.

Ali and Safi bagged three wickets each to complete five-wicket, respectively.

Two other matches of round 1 between Southern Punjab (SP) and Northern, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Baluchistan held draw.
