AFGvZIM: Rashid claims unique record of 21st century

Abu Dhabi: Afghanistan’s leg-spinner has bagged a unique record of bowling the most number of overs in a Test match in the 21st century.

The 22-year-old delivered 99.2 overs in the ongoing Test match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Australia’s leg-spin legend Shane Warne previously held this record for 19 years. He bowled 98 overs in second Test against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town in 2002.

Note, Afghanistan has bowled Zimbabwe out on 365 in second innings of the final Test. Afghanistan needs 108 runs to level the series.
