KARACHI: Star all rounder Shahid Afridi officially became a part of Karachi Kings squad and will play next Pakistan Super League from the team.
The former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has joined Karachi Kings in the capacity of a player as well as the President of the franchise.
Pakistan Super League’s official Twitter account termed it “BLOCKBUSTER Trade of The Year”, Karachi Kings clinched Boom Boom Afridi in return for their Gold and Silver pick.

Back in April, Shahid Khan Afridi left Peshawar Zalmi to join Karachi Kings.
Nicknamed ‘Boom Boom’, had been a fan favourite since he burst onto the scene in 1996, striking a 37-ball one-day century against Sri Lanka in only his second match to set a world record that was unbeaten for 18 years.
The flamboyant batsman, who debuted international cricket as a leg-spinner, became an outstanding allrounder, his role was instrumental in Pakistan’s triumph in the World T20 2009.
Just recently, the veteran allrounder blasted 101 from only 43 balls to inspire English County Hampshire’s huge win over Derbyshire in the quarter-finals of England’s T20 competition. He is tailor-made for the shortest format of the game.
