Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has highlighted the importance of fans after playing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five match after playing behind closed doors.
Boom Boom Shahid Afridi on his latest YouTube channel emphasized the role of spectators after the PSL matches were decided to play in empty stadiums.
“When I was playing the last match at National Stadium in Karachi, I got to know the role of fans as they add value to our cricketing life,” he said in a video.
He thanked the fans for their constant support throughout the PSL as it was held completely for the very first time in Pakistan.
“I would like to appreciate all of you because you all came in large numbers in the stadium. In Multan, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore it was visible how badly you all were missing cricket at your very own stadiums,” he added.
He concluding by hailing the decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the postpone of the PSL due to coronavirus pandemic and urged everyone to take care of themselves in this tough situation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PCB earlier decided to hold matches behind close doors and today postponed the semi-finals and final of PSL 5 as coronavirus precaution.
