Pakistan’s veteran allrounder, Shahid Afridi attended the international Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy tour launch on Tuesday at the ICC Academy, Dubai.
Pakistan’s former skipper is also the ambassador of the country for this multi-nation tournament. The trophy will now travel 19 different cities across all eight competing countries of the campaign, where fans will see the prestigious trophy.
The36-year old is hoping for better results from the Men in Green in tournament and said, “The ICC Champions Trophy is an event which gives me and millions of Pakistan cricket supporters mixed feelings. It is the only ICC major tournament Pakistan has never won, but at the same time it is the only ICC event in which Pakistan has beaten India. I am sure things will soon change as nothing is permanent in life and sport.”
