Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi thanked Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal after the flamboyant all-rounder joined the Pakistan Super League franchise on Friday.

“Thanks Salman. Looking forward to serve Pakistan sports specially cricket as President of Karachi Kings!!!” tweeted Afridi, who recently parted ways with PSL champions Peshawar Zalmi.

Afridi, who is known as Boom Boom in cricketing fraternity for his flamboyant batting style, played the first two seasons of the glittering league for Peshawar Zalmi.

However, he earlier announced that he has parted ways with Zalmi, due to the change in vision and goals of the franchise’s owner, Javed Afridi.

Karachi Kings were the third ranked team during the second edition of the PSL under the captaincy of Sri Lanka veteran Kumar Sangakkara.
