Lahore: New entries in the Pakistan team, batsman Ahsan Ali and all-rounder Amad Butt are confident to shine in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore at Gadaffi Stadium on January 24. 25 and 27.
Both the uncapped players shared their fitness regime while talking to Test cricketer Shaan Masood in an exclusive interview released by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on their social media platforms.
The 26-year-old Ahsan revealed he has not eaten biryani for the past one month and also stopped eating rice, roti in order to stay fit for the highest level.
“There has been a significant change in the past 31 days since I have been at the NCA. I used to eat biryani a lot, but I have given up on it. I have also stopped eating rice, roti, and sweet dishes as we have to take light diets,” he said.
All-rounder Amad Butt was labeled by Shan Masood as the one who is always in the gym or ground to maintain the required fitness standard at the international level.
“Not just me, you (Shaan) and Mohammad Rizwan are the ones who will always be seen in the gym and a lot of things are also being said to us for this too,” Amad said.
It must be noted that Ahsan Ali and Amad Butt were added to the 15-member squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh announced on January 16th by head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq.
