Shoaib Akhtar responds to Kapil Dev’s remarks on Indo-Pak series


Karachi: Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has responded to former Indian captain Kapil Dev’s remarks on a series between India and Pakistan to raise funds for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The speedster while talking to an Indian news channel that he respected Kapil but the whole world needs money in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

“I don’t think Kapil Bhai understood what I was trying to say. Everyone is going to be trapped economically. This is the time to put our heads together and generate revenues. The global audience would be hooked by one single match,” he said.

“Kapil said he doesn’t need the money and he surely doesn’t. But everyone else does. I think this suggestion will come into consideration soon,” he added.

Shoaib also said that both the neighboring countries should cooperate with each other during this global crisis.

It must be noted that Shoaib proposed a closed-door series to jointly raise funds to fight the deadly virus both in India and Pakistan. However, Kapil Dev said that it is not feasible as India have a lot of money to combat the virus.
