England’s flamboyant opening batsman, Alex Hales is set to arrive in Pakistan to join Islamabad United for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League.
Hales, who is a key element of England’s limited-over squad, played four matches for the franchise in the previous edition of the PSL, he is now returning in the squad as a replacement to his countryman, Ian Bell.
Alex Hales is excited to play for Islamabad United once again in front of the electrifying crowd of Karachi at the National Stadium.
“I am delighted to be back with Islamabad United for this year’s HBL Pakistan Super League and I can’t wait to play in front of our passionate fans,” said the English batsman in a video message.
“We have seen exciting cricket at the HBL PSL this year and Islamabad United has put in some excellent performances. I look forward to joining the squad and I hope that I can help the team lift the trophy once again,” the Englishman added.
The reigning champions are scheduled to play Karachi Kings in the first eliminator on Thursday at the National Stadium Karachi. If they lose, they will be knocked out, but if they emerge as the winners, they will take on the loser of the qualifier between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi for a spot in the final.
