All matches of PSL's next season will be played in Pakistan: PM Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of online visa issuance that all the matches of the next season of Pakistan Super League will be played in Pakistan.

“I am not hoping, I am confident that all the matches of the next season of PSL will be played in Pakistan,” said PM Imran Khan during the ceremony.

All the games of the inaugural season of the PSL were played in the UAE in 2016. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board managed to host the final of the PSL 2017 at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, but not all international stars were willing to travel to the country.

PCB was looking revive international cricket in the country after the unfortunate terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009.

The cricket board saw hosting PSL matches in Pakistan as a source that could pave way for international cricket in Pakistan.

In the third edition of PSL, the board decided to host two play-off matches and the all-important final of the league in Lahore and Karachi respectively, which proved to be a huge success.

PCB announced to host eight matches of the PSL 4 in the country. Initially, Lahore was to host three matches, while five matches, including the final of the tournament, was to be played in Karachi. However, due to political tensions with India, the flight schedule of the country got disturbed and the matches of Lahore had to be shifted to Karachi as well.

This time, all the international stars, including Shane Watson agreed to visit Pakistan to play the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League.

Now, the government and also the cricket board is making all possible efforts to take their glittering league completely to Pakistan from the next season of the PSL.
