All praises for debutant centurian Abdullah Shafiq


Multan: 20-years-old Abdullah Shafiq stunned cricket pundits with his talent after scoring a century on T20 debut while representing Central Punjab (CP) against Southern Punjab (SP) in National T20 Cup 2020. 

Abdullah played an important role in CP’s first triumph in this year’s event. He scored 102 off 58 balls laced with 11 boundaries and four maximums.

His knock impressed former and current cricketers and cricket fans across the country.

Cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja loved the way Abdullah batted throughout the match. “What great talent is this 20-years-old Abdullah Shafique! A century on debut in first-class cricket and a century on debut today in T20 cricket. Proper batting, absolutely loved it,” he wrote on Twitter.

Mohammad Hafeez was impressed with the young batsman’s technique. “Abdullah Shafique batting Technique & his process to score runs so far is love,” he mentioned.

Pakistan’s Test skipper Azhar Ali also praise Abdullah’s match-winning knock for CP. “Abdullah Shafiq you beauty what a knock,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, cricket fans also acknowledged Abdullah’s talent and they think the youngster will go long way for Pakistan.

It must be noted here that Northern locked horns with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whereas CP played against SP on the opening day of the National T20 Cup. By winning a match each, CP and Northern gained two points and grabbed the first two spots on the points table.
