Pakistan spearhead Mohammad Amir’s chances of ICC World Cup 2019 might be over as the pacer is allegedly suffering from chickenpox.
According to a leading cricket website, Amir missed the second One Day International (ODI) against England due to what officials said was a viral infection and is set to miss the third game in Bristol tomorrow as well.
The 27-year-old was initially not included in the 15-members World Cup squad, the selection committee had decided to give him a chance to regain his form in the ODI series against England but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
The fast bowler was in the playing XI for the first ODI at Oval last week but the match was abandoned due to rain after 19 overs in which Pakistan batted first. He fell ill on Friday, ahead of the second ODI on Saturday.
It was also reported that Amir is currently present in London with his family and not with the team.
