KARACHI: Pacer Mohammad Amir has said that he was focusing on his return to Pakistan side for the World Twenty20 2016 in India.
He was banned with former test captain Salman Butt and fast bowler Mohammad Asif in the 2010 spot-fixing case in England. He was slapped banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
“It was exciting to take a wicket so early in the game”, Amir told AFP.
“My focus is on returning to Pakistan for next year’s T20 World Cup”, he added.
He took a wicket on his first legitimate delivery in the ongoing Super-8 T20 Cup for Rawalpindi against Abbottabad Falcons.
Amir had 22 dismissals to his name in last month’s Patron’s Trophy.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested the governing body of the sport to allow Amir to play domestic cricket. The cricketing board will decide about the pacer’s future after his five year ban ends in September this year.
