Rawalpindi: The former world light-welterweight champion and Olympic silver medalist Amir Khan was presented with a vintage muzzle loaded pistol on his visit to Pakistan.
Amir Khan received the gift from Pakistan’s Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and posted images of the weapon on social media on Tuesday.
Earlier Amir Khan also posed for pictures with General Raheel Sharif holding a WBC championship during the ceremony in Rawalpindi.
According to a press release by the Inter-Service Public Relations – the Asian country’s military mouthpiece – the Bolton-born boxer, who takes pride in his Pakistani heritage, was recognising Sharif’s ‘efforts for peace and security in Pakistan’.
The 29-year-old’s most recent appearance in the ring ended in a sixth-round knockout defeat by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in Las Vegas.
