Mohammad Amir to travel to England on Friday


Lahore: Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir will travel to England on Friday morning after being tested negative for COVID-19 twice, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Thursday. 

Masseur Mohammad Imran will also travel alongside Amir after his COVID-19 tests returned negative. Team management requested Imran’s availability in England due to strength of the squad.

Remember, Amir, pulled out of England tour due to the birth of his second child. Later on, after Haris Rauf tested COVID-19 for five times, head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq and team requested Amir’s inclusion in the squad for T20Is.

It must be noted here that as per the revised Covid-19 regulations, Imran is categorised as a low risk after having recovered from the virus and, as such, will be integrated with the national side after one negative test, whereas Amir will remain in self-isolation until he returns two negative tests.
