Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has hailed the professionalism of star player Cristiano Ronaldo and has said that the Portuguese is always keen on giving his best shot on the field and his priority has always been to win matches for his side. He added that Ronaldo along with Sergio Ramos are the leaders in the team and know how to buck up the team before every match.
“First of all, I never once saw him in front of the dressing-room mirror or worrying about how he looked. For Cristiano the priority was always to win.” said Ancelotti in his featured story for The Telegraph.
“There were a lot of strong guys in that Real Madrid dressing room – it was a basic requirement of being at the club that you needed a big personality.”
“Of all of them, Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos were the leaders of the team, and that meant that at times they would speak to their team-mates before games.”
The Italian coach who managed Real Madrid from 2013-15 and led them to the famous La Decima 910th European title) also said that it was a pleasure to manage Ronaldo because of his passion towards the game and the way he carries himself. He added that Ronaldo takes good care of himself which is why he is hardly ever badly injured.
“He is a pleasure to manage. We all know about the work he puts in to be so strong and his perfectionism on the training ground when it comes to technique. He also understands that a lot about being a top footballer, with the demands of the modern game, is about recovery. It is what you do in between the games that counts for so much. He would talk to our medical staff all the time, he would try to figure out what he needed.” said Ancelotti.
