Indian medium pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has once again been ruled out of the three-match international series against West Indies due to groin injury as said by BCCI.
The seamer has been replaced by Shardul Thakur who has only played five ODIs for the country. He last played back in 2018.
“In the last T20 in Mumbai, Kumar complained about the pain in his right groin,” the BCCI said in the statement.
“An ultrasound scan was conducted by a specialist and the BCCI medical team found that Kumar’s hernia symptoms have reemerged. His rehabilitation program will be decided accordingly after the examination by the specialist.
After winning the three-match T20 series against West Indies, the Virat Kohli led side will face the Caribbean in Chennai on Sunday followed by matches at Visakhapatnam and Cuttack.
