Anti-corruption code to be approved today


The approval for the Cricket Anti-corruption code will be given during the PCB Governing Board’s meeting scheduled on Tuesday at Lahore. The future strategy regarding Pak-India series will also be discussed. The progress on PSL, the National teams performance and matters related to the Annual budget and decisions regarding Cricket Committee will come under discussion.

According to details, PCB’s 37th Governing Board’s meeting will be held on Tuesday at National Cricket Academy Lahore. The meeting will be presided by Chairman PCB Shehryar Khan who would brief the members regarding the latest development on Pak India series and his telephonic conversation with BCCI President Shashank Manohar. The PCB’s policy on any probable proposal given by BCCI would be determined. It may be remembered that Chairman PCB Shehryar Khan and Head of Executive Committee Najam Sethi have already turned down the proposal of India to act as a host.

Recently according to the Indian media equal sharing of revenue has also been offered by India which will also be discussed during the Governing Board’s meeting. While speaking to the media on Monday at Lahore, Shehyar Khan said that the members opinion regarding Pak-India series will carry great importance. Our future line of action would depend on our mutual discussions and we will ensure its implementation, simultaneously approval for the Cricket Anti-corruption code will also be approved during the meeting.

According to sources strict laws have been introduced to keep the National players away from the menace of corruption. During the meeting, the Head of the PSL Governing Counsel Najam Sethi will brief the members regarding the progress on the events scheduled at Dubai and Sharja. Other various topics under discussion would include the PCB Chairman’s report, National Team’s progress, annual budget, Cricket Committee and the steps taken for the progress of cricket in the country.
