Pakistan T20 skipper, Shahid Afridi, got warned by the Bord of Cricket Control India’s Secretary, Anurag Thakur, to not to give any political statements.

Anurag Thakur took notice and warned Afridi on his statement during the toss in the contest against New Zealand that Pakistan has got a lot of support and many people have come all the way from Kashmir to support them.

Thakur said, “To give a statement like that is not politically correct,”

He dragged Afridi’s statement of getting more love in India as well and said, “A player should stay away from all this. That’s the reason why he was criticised in Pakistan.”

Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat against Kiwis by 22 runs. Shahid Afridi told in the post match presentation that the game against Australia can possibly be his last international appearance for his country.

Pakistan’s chances of advancing further in the tournament are subjected to many ifs and buts now. They have played three games so far in the tournament and have enjoyed just one win against Bangladesh.
