Asad Afridi’s four-fer bags a win for KP in National T20 2nd XI Tournament


Asad Afridi bagged splendid figures of 4-18 to help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Northern by three runs in National T20 2nd XI Tournament at National Stadium Karachi (NSK).

Sarmad Bhatti’s fifty went in went as Northern fell just three runs short to the target. Sarmad scored 62 runs off 46 balls. Bowlers of Khyber Pakhtukhwa bowled brilliantly as Sameen Gul and Asif Afridi shared four wickets between them.

While batting first, KP put 172 runs on the scoreboard with 86 runs opening partnership between Kamran Ghulam and Nabi Gul. Kamran scored 44 runs off 22 balls with the help of seven boundaries and a six and Nabi smashed two sixes and five boundaries to score 36-ball 45 runs.

Mehran Ibrahim was the top performer for KP as he brought up his fifty off just 30 balls. He scored 50 runs laced with eight boundaries and a six.

Nauman Ali and Usama Mir bagged two wickets each for Northern.

In another match at NSK, Southern Punjab defeated Central Punjab by 21 runs. Zia-ul-Haq and Mohammad Imran took three wickets each for Southern Punjab as they restricted Central Punjab to 158-10.

While batting first, Southern Punjab posted 179-5 in 20 overs. Mohammad Mohsin was the highest scorer for them with 76 runs off 39 deliveries.

Asad Raza bagged two wickets for Central Punjab.

Central Punjab, while chasing got bowled out in 20th over for 158 runs. Mohammad Saad topped the batting chart with 46 runs off 38 balls.
