Pakistan hockey team held a 1-1 draw in their fourth clash against Japan to qualify for the semi-final of the Asian Champions trophy on Wednesday.
The men in green didn’t start well as some straight chances were missed at the start and Japan struck their first goal on the 12th minute to further increase pressure on them.
Kitazatu scored for Japan to bring 1-0 lead for his team in the first quarter.
Pakistan’s Mubashir Ali made the most of a penalty-corner on 25th minute to bring an equaliser for the men in green.
Thereafter no more goals were scored as both teams showed potential with defence keeping a couple of chances under control.
Pakistan with this win will play semi-final on October 28.
The skipper Pakistan team Mohammad Rizwan expressed his feelings on qualifying for the knock-out stage of the tournament and said that the team will try hard to clinch the title.
“Really happy on qualifying for the knock-out stage and hopefully we will not disappoint our fans this time around,” he said.
