Multan: Asif Ali and Hammad Azam scored 71 runs together to hand Northern fifth consecutive win by defeating Baluchistan by 7 wickets in 14th match of National T20 Cup.
Asif remained not out for 41 runs off 30 balls laced with two boundaries and three sixes. Hammad smashed four boundaries to score 30 runs off 23 balls.
Opener Umar Amin made 30 runs off 25 balls to provide a good start to Northern alongside Rohail Nazir who made 42 off 27 deliveries with five boundaries and a six in his account and bagged man-of-the-match award. They both rescued the table-toppers from 6-1 and added 52 runs to the team’s total before Yasir Shah bagged Umar.
Yasir was the pick of the bowlers for Baluchistan as the right-arm leggie picked up two wickets for 32 runs. Khurram Shehzad bagged a wicket.
Earlier, Baluchistan suffered in batting after losing three early wickets for 28 runs. Imam-ul-Haq, Awais Zia, and Bismillah walked off after scoring 2, 14, and 12 respectively.
Haris Sohail came in support of his team and scored 51 runs off 41 balls to give a sigh of relief in the camp. His inning included four boundaries and two sixes. Amad Butt scored 18 runs while Umaid struck eight runs with a six in the end.
For Northern, Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Amir took two wickets each while Mohammad Ismail Khan bagged a wicket.
