World’s defending snooker champions Mohammad Asif and Babar Masih raised voice against Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) for cancelling their participation in World Team Snooker Championship which started on Thursday in Egypt.
Both the players while talking to the media said that the PBSF is doing unjust with them. They have won several titles for Pakistan and still facing such attitude.
Asif said that their contract is expiring on December 31 this year but they were forced to sign a new contract in order to participate in the mega event.
“This is not fair! Our participation cancelled just due to not signing the new contract,” he said.
Asif also revealed that the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has never paid a single penny to them ever.
“We didn’t get our money from the POA,” he said.
Masih, on the other hand, said that the PBSF never provided them jobs and all the time asked them to bring medals.
“Every time they ask us to bring medals to get a job but nobody has given us any job,” he said.
The players appealed to the government to take notice of this issue as they want to represent and gain achievements for Pakistan at the international level.
