Former Australia’s world cup winning skipper, Michael Clarke will be a part of the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Dawn News revealed.
Clarke has joined other big names that include ex-New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum and the current English skipper Eion Morgan in the Platinum Category.
A reliable source told Dawn News, “Clarke will be part of the Platinum category along the likes of McCullum, Morgan, Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Stuart Broad, Lasith Malinga, Mahela Jayawardene and Kieron Pollard.”
Moreover, Salman Butt is also been lined up for the PSL draft and he is likely to be listed in the Gold category. “Salman is the notable inclusion in the gold category along with other swashbuckling batsmen namely South Africa’s Richard Levi, England’s Gary Ballance and Sri-Lanka’s Lahiru Thirimanne.”
Whereas, England’s Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and James Anderson will be placed in Diamond category in the draft.
“The players draft will also see a selection of 255 players in the Silver category with the likes of England’s Mark Wood, David Willey, Sri Lanka’s Kaushal Silva and West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran discernible among others. On the other hand, 26 players will be part of Emerging Players category,” he further told.
The draft for the second edition of the PSL is likely to take place on 18 and 19 October in Dubai. Each team has to pick three players from Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Emerging categories, whereas, they have to pick five players from the Silver Category.
