The reigning World Champions, Australia, kicked off their Sultan Azlan Shah campaign with a crushing win over India by a margin of 5-1.
Australia scored their first goal in the 5th minute of the game when Blake Govers beaten Indian goalkeeper on a penalty corner. India didn’t take long to score an equalizer in the 8th minute of the game.
It was Australia’s domination in the rest of the contest. India’s defense wasn’t able to clear the ball and gave Australia huge gaps to make their way to their box and score goals.
India started off their Azlan Shah run on a high note defeating Japan with a score line of 2-1, but, the eight time Azlan Shah winner completely dominated India in Ipoh.
Australia seems to have brought their best team in the tournament for the preparation of Rio Olympics that is just a couple of month away from now.
Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan defeated Canada in their opening game of the tournament.
