Rain spoils Pakistan-Australia first T20I

Aaron Finch’s exuberant start with the bat while chasing put Pakistan under immense pressure before heavy rain interrupted the exciting batting show from the Aussies and the match ended with no result.

Finch smashed 37 runs off 16 balls which includes 26 runs off Irfan’s third over. The right-handed batsman took Australia’s total to 41 runs in just 3.1 overs. Returning to international cricket after three years, tall Irfan gave away 31 runs in just two overs.

Earlier, skipper Babar Azam smashed 59 off 38 balls to help Pakistan post 107-5 in 15 overs. The young batsman played with a handsome strike rate of 155.26 and his inning includes five boundaries and two sixes.

Mohammad Rizwan played 33 balls to score 31 runs with a boundary and six each.

Mitchel Starc and Kane Richardson bagged two wickets each for Australia. Ashton Agar picked up one.
