Test batsman Azhar Ali rated Pakistan’s chances in the upcoming world cup high as he thinks that the conditions in England will suit the national side.
Ali while talking to the media in Karachi said that Pakistan always performed extraordinarily in England having won the Champions trophy at the same venue.
“Pakistan team is much familiar with the conditions in England and I believe that they will compete strongly in next year’s mega event,” he said.
The right-handed batsman backed fast bowler Mohammad Abbas for achieving a lot for Pakistan in a short span of time.
“Abbas is influential with the bowl in test format and may perform well in shorter format as well,” he said.
Azhar also supported out-of-form Fakhar Zaman and said that bad time comes on every player but the one needs to be strong enough to tackle pressure.
“Fakhar is going through a hard time but I am positive for his strong comeback in all formats of the game,” said Azhar.
Azhar has represented Pakistan in 67 tests scoring 5,303 at an average of 44.19 while scored 1,845 runs in 53 ODIs.
