London: Pakistan’s new bowling coach Azhar Mahmood is looking forward to working with the Pakistan Cricket Team and is quite pleased to be working with talented players of Pakistan.
“As a bowling coach for the Pakistan team, I am looking forward to working with the best talent in the country very soon. I would have started earlier with the Pakistan team had it not been for my commitments in the NatwestT20 Blast tournament where I was representing Surrey,” said Azhar Mahmood according to PakPassion.net.
Azhar also pointed out Pakistan’s inability to reverse swing the ball and he considers that Pakistan did not work on the ball as much as they should have. He added that England were good in that department which is evident from the fact that Pakistan encountered difficulties in dealing with England’s bowling especially in the second innings.
“To me, the main reason for the lack reverse-swing for Pakistan bowlers has to do with how the ball is taken care of during the innings. This is completely different from the way the same result is achieved back home in Pakistan. In England, the grounds have lush outfields and the ball inadvertently picks up moisture from the outfield. As you would have noticed, England took very good care of the ball whilst we did not and that could well have been the difference.”
The fourth Test match between Pakistan and England will begin today at Kennington Oval with England leading the series 2-1.
